Shahada: A guide to the meaning of the declaration of faith

This book aims to provide readers with an explanation of the meaning and importance of the first pillar of Islam, the Shahada. The Shahada, or Testimony of Faith, is to declare ‘La Ilaha Illa Allah, Muhammadan Rasulu Allah’, [There is no deity worthy of worship except the One God and Muhammad is the Messenger of God]. It is the main creed around which all Islamic rules revolve, and without sincere belief in it, one cannot be a Muslim. The Shahada is the best of words, the heaviest in the scale and the highest in value in the sight of God.
